Agata – :
Starting our story, I hope there is no character limit in this field
Our daughter, 2,5 yo, is a very organised little lady. She doesn’t like surprises too much, she likes to know the plan in advance, and sticks to it.
It is hard to plan ahead, if you don’t know the concept of time yet. It can be difficult to understand when parents say “we will go out later. In a moment”. What’s “in a moment”?
When I saw the watch I knew I just had to wait for a good occasion, and that came in December. I was a bit afraid to order on-line, not being sure of the looks and quality, so I find a local store in Brussels, but the moment I lay my eyes on it, it was sold. It is really beautiful and looks sturdy. No cheap plastics or anything bad you might be afraid of. It’s shiny and colourful and solid.
From the moment our girl received it, she wears it almost non-stop. Adjustable strap fits even on tiniest hand (we don’t even use the tiniest setting, and she’s rather on the small side for a 2,5 year old). We still take it of for the bath, despite the fact it’s waterproof, but you don’t want to get the strap all mushy too quick.
We did already got some tiny scratches on the glass, but it’s really nothing I worry too much of. I mean, it’s gonna happen, unless you want to give your kid a diamond watch.
Most importantly, our daughter really loves it, and it makes our life easier. She picked up on reading it rather quick. When she would resist going to bed, I told her, that she has to stay for only a bit and mummy will come back in 5 minutes to check if she’s ok. I showed her what animal 5 minutes would make. Needles to say, I failed to synchronize our watches, and at specified time she went out of the bedroom looking for me!
As she was finding it hard to adjust to kindergarten, I also prepared her a little planning, including picture of the time along with picture of an activity, like getting up, leaving to school, playing, diner, and what time will she be picked up. Hard to say for sure, but mummy’s instinct tell me, it was one of the big factors to ease our transitions on daily basis.
Now that I see those watches are cheaper on pre-order, I am really jealous
We are even thinking of getting a clock for our kindergarten as a present for being so kind and flexible with us.
Long story short. I think it was money well spend. We love the watch. Our girl loves the watch. It makes life easier. What else do you need?
